Census 2020 in our Community 

The City of Safford is a proud supporter of the 2020 Census. Along with our neighboring communities in Graham County, we pledge to be counted.

Our goal is to provide resources to educate our community on the importance and benefits of completing and submitting the 2020 Census questionnaire, and to encourage every Safford household to participate.

What is the Census?

How can I complete the Census?

Online. The 2020 Census is the first year that the survey is available to be completed online. You will receive an invitation in the mail with a personal code and directions.

Phone. Survey data can be entered by calling the U.S. Census Bureau (number will be published once available).

Mail. Paper surveys will be made available to households in March, 2020.

February, 2020: Group quarters counts begin (assisted living, college dorms)
March 23, 2020: Postcards are mailed and public response begins
April 1, 2020: Census Day
April - June, 2020: Non-response follow-up
December 31, 2020: Census counts delivered to the U.S. President
